Mass detentions in Ankara-based FETÖ operation! Active public employees among those detained

According to a statement from the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of investigations conducted by the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, it was determined that the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization targeted the General Directorate of Security to infiltrate, recruit members, code police personnel according to the organization's own internal system, and track and record the organizational loyalty status of recruited members.

ACTIVE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES AMONG THOSE DETAINED

In line with these activities, detention warrants were issued for 36 people identified as "police secret handlers" appointed by the organization as "secret imams," 6 of whom are currently active public personnel working in various public institutions or organizations.

Furthermore, within the scope of the investigation, detention warrants were issued for 5 people identified as having used ByLock, the secret communication tool of FETÖ/PDY, via GSM lines registered in the names of others, according to reports prepared as a result of HTS analysis and content analysis studies.

In this context, detention warrants were issued for a total of 41 suspects, and 29 of the suspects have been apprehended.

Operations by the Ankara Provincial Police Department teams to apprehend the remaining suspects and refer them to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are ongoing.
