Mass resignation earthquake in CHP! 150 people leave the party

CHP Diyarbakır Provincial Vice President Ergin Bayram announced that he has resigned along with 150 people, claiming that there is no democracy within his party.

According to the report in T24; recalling that he was involved in politics within the CHP until the 80s and 90s, Bayram stated, “I took a break for various reasons. However, I was still voting for my party and supporting it from the outside. Upon the insistence of Abdullah Atik, who was appointed as the CHP Provincial President, I took on a role in the CHP again with my family and loved ones to serve our party. I returned to my old party by not turning down Mr. Atik. After joining the party, I was the reason many people also joined the ranks of the CHP. I served as the CHP Provincial Vice President for nearly 1 year,” he said.

HE CRITICIZED THE PROVINCIAL PRESIDENT AND SEZGİN TANRIKULU

Claiming that the current Provincial President Abdullah Atik made decisions on his own without consulting the administration, Bayram said the following:

“Atik was dismissing district presidents for no reason. The dismissed district presidents are our friends and colleagues who have put effort into this party for years. I received complaints from 7 district presidents. I told Provincial President Atik about the issue, saying, ‘Do not act as you please, you are doing wrong. You just came to the party yesterday. On what grounds are you dismissing them?’ Despite this, he did not listen to us. He is bringing in his own people to replace the district presidents he dismissed. This situation bothered me. I also witnessed that there was no democracy at the Provincial Presidency congress held in recent days. Unfortunately, CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Mr. Sezgin Tanrıkulu, who served as the Chair of the Congress, remained a spectator to what was happening at the congress. In the election, which proceeded with a single list, the delegates filled out the envelopes from where they were sitting without going to the voting booth. It was not a democratic election. Before the congress, 3 people had announced they were candidates. However, on the day of the congress, I saw that it proceeded with a single list. As those who have served this party for years, we saw that there was no democracy at the congress. For this reason, I resigned from both party delegate status and membership. Furthermore, 150 people who joined the party with me also decided to resign.”
