Mass resignation earthquake in İYİ Party

News of consecutive resignations continues to come from the İYİ Party's Konya organization.

Following Doğanhisar and Yalıhüyük, news of resignation has now come from Ahırlı.

According to the report in Sözcü, Ali Üzlük, who was elected Mayor of Ahırlı from the İYİ Party, and the municipal council members have resigned from their party.

WILL CONTINUE AS INDEPENDENT

Mayor Ali Üzlük, who announced that he would continue as an independent, included the following statements in his announcement:

‘'My dear fellow citizens, before the March 31, 2024 local elections, we set out with the goals of providing you with better service, transparent municipalism, and putting Ahırlı and its neighborhoods first. Thankfully, with your support, we won the Ahırlı Mayoral election.

With the awareness of the responsibility of this victory, we have acted in common consensus with you from the first day, with the thought that everything is for our municipality. Feeling the reward and satisfaction of these efforts through the favor of you, our valued fellow citizens, has encouraged us as much as it has made us happy.

With this encouragement, the goal of serving you, our valued fellow citizens to whom we are wholeheartedly attached, has further increased our commitment to our duty.

In this process, which we have spent with the awareness of our responsibility, do not doubt that we will continue to work harder with the same perseverance and determination as we have worked with until today, in order to ensure that our district attains the value it deserves and to become a municipality that is shown as an example and looked upon with envy in every field.

We believe that we have represented our party in the best way during the mayoral process. Our party is not a factor in the decision we have made.

Again, based on your valuable opinions and the necessity we have seen, I, as the Mayor, and all our municipal council members have resigned from the İYİ Party. I hope this decision will be beneficial for our district and you, our valued fellow citizens.”

MUNICIPAL COUNCIL MEMBERS ALSO RESIGNED

Along with Mayor Ali Üzlük, Metropolitan Municipality Provincial Council Member Tevfik İnce and İYİ Party District Municipal Council Members Hüsamettin Güzel, Hasan Altunay, Ercan Gözel, and Adem Dilekli also stated that they have resigned from their party and will continue their duties as independents.
