Mass resignation earthquake in the AKP!
A mass resignation earthquake has hit the AKP's Fethiye organization. 2,000 people resigned from the AKP in protest against the imposition of an unwanted individual as the district chairman.
In the Fethiye district of Muğla, the attempt to have Kadir Sarıhan, who was elected as a municipal council member from the IYI Party, appointed as the AKP district chairman has led to resignations within the organization.
2,000 PEOPLE SIGNED
According to a report by Sözcü, party members who did not want Sarıhan to become district chairman launched a petition campaign, and the number of signatories reached 2,000 in a short time.

Sarıhan, meanwhile, filed a complaint against those organizing the campaign. Dozens of people, including former District Chairman Murat Çağlar Ayıkol, 2024 Fethiye Mayoral Candidate Muhammet Kökten, two-term district chairman Mustafa Ali Türkan, and Deputy District Chairmen Zafer Aykaç, Ersin Kocagöz, and Salih Bülbül, gave statements to the prosecutor.
Former District Chairman Ayıkol rebelled against the appointment, stating, “The appointment not only created a shock effect in our party but also caused disappointment. May our President listen to the voice rising from Muğla. The person appointed (Kadir Sarıhan) ran a smear campaign against our mayoral candidate in 2019 by slandering them.”
