Meral Akşener's reaction to CHP over the motion: She compared them to HDP

Meral Akşener, who came to Düzce for a series of visits, was welcomed at the provincial headquarters by IYI Party Political Affairs Chair Oktay Vural, Ankara MP Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba, Provincial Chair Yunus Özay Er, and party members. Akşener received information about activities from Er and later attended an organizational meeting.

In her speech there, Akşener stated that they would fulfill their duty to be the voice of the nation to the end, explaining that they are a nationalist, democratic, and developmentalist party, and that they possess a dual system that functions like a non-governmental organization in addition to their political direction.

Stating that they have provided scholarships to 375 students as a party, Akşener also noted that they are producing projects to reach those in need.

"WE WILL FIELD OUR CANDIDATES IN ALL PROVINCES AND DISTRICTS"

Touching upon the fact that they have no intention of helping anyone win or lose in the upcoming local elections, Akşener said, "We are setting out to win. We will field our candidates in all provinces and districts. Both in 2018 and 2023, our nation gave us 10 percent of the vote and said, 'do not leave my sight'."

Addressing Israel's attacks in Palestine, Akşener said, "I condemn every kind of atrocity and terror committed by Netanyahu and his subordinates in Gaza. May God deal with them as He sees fit."

Regarding criticisms of Turkey's stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict, Akşener stated, "You cannot jump left and right, my brother. You may not like the government, you may object, but this is foreign policy. This is a matter of eliminating harmful situations that Turkey might face tomorrow. Therefore, there is benefit in being one and together."

CRITICISM OF CHP OVER THE MOTION

Akşener also criticized the CHP for voting 'no' on the motion to send troops to Iraq and Syria. Akşener said, "Except for the HDP, the entire Parliament used to accept all such motions. But something else happened this term. Suddenly, a 'no' was said last term. While this 'no' was being said, we were faced with a language that accused those who said 'yes' of treason, as if they had welcomed foreign boots, based on an argument that not a single foreign boot could enter this country."

"WE HAVE ALWAYS BUILT OUR DREAMS ON THE UNITY AND COHESION OF THIS COUNTRY"

Arguing that Turkey needs the IYI Party, its common sense, intellect, and patriotism for its own interests, Akşener assessed, "At the same time, it needs the prosperity of this country's people to be ensured. Ultimately, patriotism is loving every individual of this country without discrimination. This is who we are. We have always built our dreams on the unity and cohesion of this country."

Akşener added that they dream of "a Turkey where every citizen holding a Republic of Turkey identity card has equal rights."

At the end of her speech, Akşener introduced her party's Düzce Mayoral Candidate Mehmet Keleş, Gölyaka Mayoral Candidate Bekir Akbulut, and Akçakoca Mayoral Candidate Behçet Alkan Lokum, and later attended a regional consultation meeting with the provincial and district chairs of Sakarya, Bolu, Düzce, Zonguldak, Kocaeli, Yalova, and Karabük.
