Meriç Demir Kahraman, wife of imprisoned Tayfun Kahraman, shares drawing by their daughter Vera

Following the operations targeting the IMM, 48 people, including CHP's Presidential Candidate and IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu as well as the mayors of Şişli and Beylikdüzü, were arrested. Dr. Meriç Demir Kahraman, wife of imprisoned urban planner Tayfun Kahraman, shared a drawing made by their daughter, Vera.

In her post, Meriç Demir Kahraman stated, "Uncle Ekrem had asked for a letter and a drawing. Our daughter Vera drew it."

Demir Kahraman noted the following in her post:

"Vera loves her Uncle Ekrem very much. 

Vera loves her Uncle Emrah very much.

Vera loves her Uncle Gürkan very much. 

She knows that they have also gone to be with her father, Tayfun. 

'They took my father first, now they have taken my uncles too,' she says.

She is growing up knowing these things.

I am very sad for our country and most of all for our children.

I am very hopeful for our country and most of all for our children.

Justice will surely prevail."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In a statement made before his arrest, İmamoğlu had called on young people and children for the primary election, saying; “Children and young people, even if you do not have the right to vote, I am waiting for your creative feelings, words, and slogans to reach me at the same place”
