Message from PKK terrorist organization leader Bayık regarding Öcalan: 'He sent us a letter' - Details of the DEM delegation's visit to Northern Iraq

A new phase has been reached in the Imralı process, which began following the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli on October 22.

Following the MHP's call, Turkey's negotiation process with the PKK has gained momentum once again.

In this process, a critical statement came from one of the PKK leaders, Cemil Bayık. Bayık announced that a letter had been sent to them by Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in Imralı Prison, and that this letter contained important messages.

In his statement, Bayık said that Abdullah Öcalan wants to move the Kurdish issue "from a ground of conflict to a democratic ground." Stating that this approach has created positive effects on both the PKK and the public, Bayık expressed that they are approaching the process positively.

PKK leader Bayık said, “The statements made and the discussions held are creating a positive effect on the public, on democrats, intellectuals, and socialists. It is even creating enthusiasm; we are observing this. It is creating a good effect, enthusiasm, and excitement for us as well.”

''ÖCALAN'S ROLE MUST BE STRENGTHENED''

Cemil Bayık stated that Abdullah Öcalan is leading the process and that the leader has taken the initiative. He also argued that Öcalan's role should be strengthened.

CRITICAL VISIT TO NORTHERN IRAQ

In light of these developments, the DEM Party delegation has completed its preparations for a visit to Northern Iraq this weekend.

The DEM Party delegation, which has previously met with Abdullah Öcalan twice, will meet with Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Nechirvan Barzani, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani, and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Bafel Talabani.

The focus of the visit will be to receive the views and suggestions of the KRG and to convey the messages in Abdullah Öcalan's letters to the authorities in the region.

Following the meetings in Northern Iraq, the DEM Party delegation will return to Imralı Prison to determine the next steps of the process.

After this meeting, the content of the expected "call" will become clear, and the steps to be taken in the coming period will become more defined.
