Message of a 'Terror-Free Turkey' from Ömer Çelik: Legal regulation to be passed before Parliament closes

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made evaluations regarding the agenda following his party's Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting. Stating that preparations for legal regulations are ongoing within the process referred to as a "Terror-Free Turkey," Çelik expressed that the regulation would be passed before Parliament closes.

Stating that the process is a "comprehensive one with political and legal dimensions," Çelik pointed to the commission work being conducted in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) under the chairmanship of the Speaker of Parliament and the state policy being followed in line with the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

''We have reached a new stage regarding a Terror-Free Turkey. This stage was the emergence of a legal framework for laying down arms. We are holding numerous meetings. It is a very comprehensive process with political and legal dimensions.''

Noting that the process has reached the "fine-tuning" stage, Çelik emphasized that the political atmosphere created is as important as the legal framework. Expressing that constructive criticism is valuable, Çelik said that destructive criticism would harm the process.

The AK Party Spokesperson said, "Nothing has been done within this dynamism that would cast a shadow on the values of our state. What comes next is important. We are at the stage of finer craftsmanship."

Stating that Turkey has faced provocations in the past targeting ethnic and sectarian divisions, Çelik drew attention to the common sense of society. He gave a message of unity with the words, "Our names may be different, but our surname is Turkey."

Touching upon the importance of politics and democracy, Çelik argued that Turkey stands out positively in its immediate geography. He stated that the ballot box, democracy, and the opportunity to engage in politics are fundamental values that must be protected.

Responding to questions regarding the CHP, Çelik said that the internal debates within the CHP should not be associated with the AK Party. Stating that both those who put forward the allegations and those accused are members of the CHP, Çelik used the expressions, "This issue is your own issue. Face it."

Çelik also stated that preparations for the 25th anniversary of the AK Party are ongoing. Saying that the celebrations will be held with various events from August 1 to August 14, Çelik noted that the process will be crowned with a speech by President Erdoğan.
