Metin Külünk criticizes AKP organizations over Israel

The tension that began with Israel's attack on Iran's nuclear facilities quickly turned into mutual missile strikes. While many Iranians, including high-ranking commanders, lost their lives in the Israeli attacks, Tel Aviv was targeted in Iran's retaliation. As tensions in the region continue to rise, various reactions are also coming from Turkey.

One of the most notable of these reactions came from former AKP deputy and former Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) member Metin Külünk. In a lengthy statement on his social media account, Külünk criticized the Islamic world, religious civil structures in Turkey, and his own party.

Metin Külünk used the following expressions:

"THE SO-CALLED ISLAMIC WORLD HAS BECOME TRASH.

There is a world with a Muslim identity that has a population of 2 billion.

There are 54 countries defined as "Islamic states" that govern this world.

These countries possess the world's strongest potential in terms of underground resources.

However, the result is clear: this model has effectively collapsed in the face of tiny Israel, with its population of 9 million.

Despite the blood, tears, massacres, and genocide that have been ongoing for nearly two years,

the state of the Islamic world is pathetic.

While consciences in the Western world have been awakened,

reactions here remain either weak or entirely symbolic.

While streets, concerts, universities, artists, students, and politicians in the West are reacting much more strongly than we are in many areas, the Islamic world remains silent.

When we look at the Turkish public, the picture is even more thought-provoking:

Civil society organizations (with some exceptions) are watching the developments as if they were watching a movie. So, why?

It is painful but true;

Conformism has dulled the nerve endings of civil society life in Turkey, especially among those with religious identities (with exceptions), and the relationship between power and money—and beyond that, methods of earning money without rules or sacred values—has seriously eroded the ability of certain segments to react.

For two years,

When we look at the conferences, workshops, and solution-seeking meetings focused on the unity of the Islamic world against Israel's genocide, and the efforts to manage all these works with a cross-border model, along with the non-violent, lawful, and alternative models developed by the Turkish society to take a stand against these genocides and massacres, I state with regret that we have failed.

What happened to the structures that did not hesitate to take a stand despite the impossibilities during the most difficult periods of February 28? (with exceptions)

Why is politics not taking action to organize civil life? Why are the flagship AKP organizations not acting more effectively to come together with all parties and civil society structures to create a non-violent, conscientious, and lawful civil movement space that starts from the neighborhood and extends to the districts, taking a common stand against the genocide and massacres?

Why are politics and civil society not being mobilized to provide stronger reactions in this regard?

Why is a will that paves the way not being put forward?

THERE IS NO HOPELESSNESS.

Is there a solution?

Of course there is.

Israel will inevitably be subject to the divine warning and punishment mentioned in Surah Al-Isra.

This is inevitable.

However, our duty is to correctly read, analyze, and develop a new model in response to the reason, intelligence, and systemic strategy that has made Israel so reckless and uncontrolled.

By asking the question of how they succeeded;

As long as we cannot analyze this model with its scientific, intellectual, and economic dimensions; as long as we cannot use our REASON AND INTELLIGENCE to determine how to turn this defeat into a victory

As long as we do not place scientific freedom at the center and ask these questions, and as long as we do not take rapid steps by answering them, this trend will not change.

In Turkey, it does not seem possible to solve this problem with a political model that has surrendered to the monetary order, service, and power, and a civil and intellectual life that runs parallel to it.
