MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli’s 'glass ceiling' response to Özel: 'The Republic of Türkiye was not founded at the ballot box'
In his message for the Ramadan Feast, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli commented on the March 31 local elections, stating, "The Republic of Türkiye was not founded at the ballot box." Bahçeli also criticized the decision regarding the certificate of election in Van and responded to CHP leader Özgür Özel’s remarks that they had "broken the glass ceiling."
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli released a message for the Ramadan Feast.
In his message, Bahçeli alluded to the CHP's success in the local elections, stating, "Those who say 'We broke the glass ceiling' will never be given the opportunity to dynamite the roof of the Turkish state and the existence of the Turkish nation. The Republic of Türkiye was not founded at the ballot box. Turkish history was not written at the ballot box. Everyone should come to their senses and remember that as long as they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind."
Bahçeli's feast message is as follows:
"UNREST AND DISTRUST ARE WIDESPREAD"
While we bid farewell to the blessed Ramadan, which I pray we all reach again, we are experiencing the joy and warmth of reaching the days of the feast.
First and foremost, my wish is for every day of ours to pass with the taste and spirit of a feast.
It is my heartfelt wish that the worship we performed, the prayers we offered, and the fasts we kept during the month of Ramadan be accepted and well-received.
In these days when the spiral of regional and global unrest is hardening, our spirit of national unity and solidarity must be reinforced and fortified at every field and stage.
It is self-evident that a world picture based on material, mechanical, hybrid, and self-interest is constantly destroying the richness of humanity's values and heritage, and damaging feelings of tolerance and compassion to dangerous levels.
It is proven by many experiences that political, commercial, diplomatic, and economic confrontations lead to multi-dimensional crises and disputes between civilizations and nations, and even invite environments of conflict and war.
Unfortunately, the crisis of meaning and spirituality that humanity has fallen into is constantly deepening and expanding.
Inspired by this, unrest and distrust are widespread.
The vortex of confusion and chaos, which cannot be prevented in an unpredictable world, is constantly intensifying.
"HUMAN CONSCIENCE MUST MOBILIZE AGAINST OPPRESSION"
The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, the Israeli genocide blockading Gaza, the mutual state of alarm between Iran and Israel, the heinous acts and ambitions of terrorism, and the mention of a new world war illustrate the acute need for peace, stability, and tranquility on a global scale.
Building a fair, just, peaceful, secure, and prosperous future is the common responsibility of every country, every society, and every nation.
Otherwise, the birth of a nascent middle age and the destruction of the gains achieved to date are inevitable.
It is essential and necessary for a livable world that not only the Turkish and Islamic geographies, but the whole world embraces in a way that is compatible and supportive of the spiritual climate of feasts, that clenched fists are opened, and that well-intentioned, friendly, and lasting relationship networks are established to replace disputes and hegemony struggles.
Human conscience must mobilize against oppression.
Standing on the same side against the violence and hatred policies of oppressors is a requirement of dignity and fairness.
While billions of people are hungry and poor, struggling in deprivation of rights and freedoms, the fact that a limited and select group of so-called privileged and elite layers live in wealth and luxury, and that inequality and injustice are globalizing, naturally puts optimistic expectations into a state of helplessness.
Essentially, this is the first knot that needs to be untied.
It is impossible to deny that those who are dragged in pursuit of uncontrolled ambition, unbridled desire, and bottomless whims; who recognize no human or conscientious threshold with the aim of earning more, eating more, establishing more dominance, and obtaining more, are practically racing to set the world on fire.
Breaking the hard shell surrounding humanity to reveal the essence, and meeting again in the circle of common values and spirituality, must be the absolute goal.
The close and simple truth that the feast preaches and promises is the performance and expression of this goal with unity of heart.
There is no resentment or polarization in the majesty of the feast.
There is no grudge or separation in the affectionate climate of the feast.
In the meaning and content will of the feast, there is the beauty of visiting relatives, the brightness of reunion, and the sincere meeting and integration of distant hearts, as well as the holding of hands that have been apart once again.
I believe that the Century of the Turks and Türkiye will also provide the Turkish nation and future generations with a timeless feast delight.
THE DECISION ON THE CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION IN VAN
The fact that those who are in search and aim of adding poison to this delight have started to get spoiled with local gains, and their efforts to compensate for the despondency they are buried in with madness like someone who found a treasure, stems more from a myopic view and poverty of vision that does not read the course of Türkiye and the world, rather than political unconsciousness.
It is certain that those who walk the path with the prompting of imperialism and the PKK alliance, without offering any hope, horizon, or bright future, will topple at the first turn.
It will not be possible for those who boast today due to their periodic rise and show off with praises of change to tear Türkiye away from its founding principles.
It is of countless benefit for the malevolent separatists who attempt to convert democratic rights into anarchy to know that the field is not empty today as it was yesterday, and that they will be exposed to the painful consequences of their domineering actions that damage the sovereignty of the Turkish state.
Those who distort a legal issue in Van and turn the streets into a battlefield are essentially executioners of democracy and adversaries of the state and nation.
Giving the mayoral certificate to a person who was legally wrong to enter the election from the beginning and is known to praise the separatist terrorist organization PKK is a scandal and wrong from top to bottom.
To claim that this is respect for the national will is foolishness and deception.
Because the cherished will of the Turkish nation is against all kinds of separatists, division, terrorism, and terrorists to the end and will continue to stand against them.
It should be well known that the streets are not a place to seek rights, and a right that does not exist cannot be obtained by using violence and force.
On the contrary, such a process will shake the indivisible integrity of the state with its country and nation and create weakness in the state.
Moreover, the insidiousness of pitting the state against the nation and the subsequent intentions to portray the state in a bad light have accelerated especially after the March 31 elections, and tolerating or ignoring this means paving the way for national bankruptcy.
Because in every period of our history, the fate of the state and the nation is one and the same.
Efforts to separate and differentiate the two are likely to open the door to the circulation of treacherous scenarios and the weakening of national power elements in the long run.
'GLASS CEILING' RESPONSE TO ÖZEL
Those who say “We broke the glass ceiling” will never be given the opportunity to dynamite the roof of the Turkish state and the existence of the Turkish nation.
The Republic of Türkiye was not founded at the ballot box.
Turkish history was not written at the ballot box.
Everyone should come to their senses and remember that as long as they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind.
Türkiye will stand out as a symbol of peace, stability, power, prosperity, and security for the future with its democratic maturity, historical and cultural heritage, and feelings of unity and brotherhood.
All Turkish citizens who give blood, color, and soul to the Turkish nation are one, equal, and all are cherished members of a thousand-year brotherhood.
With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate our heroic martyrs with mercy and respect; I wholeheartedly celebrate the feast of our martyr mothers, martyr fathers, and martyr relatives.
I offer my best wishes to our veterans, and I wish a blessed feast to those still under treatment with my prayers for healing.
I sincerely congratulate the blessed Ramadan Feast of our valuable citizens who carry the burden of life at home and abroad, wherever they live, the great Turkish nation, and our brothers and sisters who are struggling for existence in our heart and cultural geographies, and I offer my greetings and respects.
May every day of ours be a feast.
May God Almighty be our helper and supporter.
I hope that no hand extended during this feast will be turned away, and that our peace and brotherhood will exist until eternity.
