MHP's Sadir Durmaz reacts to insults against Atatürk and President Erdoğan at Sur Municipality: 'The actions of DEM-run municipalities must absolutely not go unpunished'

MHP Deputy Chairman Sadir Durmaz has reacted to the use of insulting language directed at Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the office of the Diyarbakır Sur Municipality.

In a written statement, Durmaz noted that the starting point for the incidents targeting the national unitary state structure that have occurred in DEM-run municipalities over the last few days is undoubtedly the certificate of election crisis in Van.

Durmaz stated, "The actions of DEM-run municipalities, the political wing of separatists who want to undermine our national unity and social peace, break our centuries-old bonds of brotherhood, and dynamite the indivisible integrity of the state with its country and nation, must absolutely not go unpunished."

Reminding that the Ministry of Interior has launched the necessary investigations into these matters and has assigned inspectors to the municipalities where the incidents took place, Durmaz noted the following:

"Those who do not want to hear our National Anthem in the municipal council should enter whatever cave they wish and wait for their turn in a yellow bag while accompanied by PKK anthems. The 'DEM-infused' CHP of today, which boasts of being Atatürk's party when it comes to talk, is deeply upsetting sincere Atatürkists by supporting separatists who challenge the state by calling Tunceli—where Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk showed the 'Iron Hand of the State'—'Dersim'.

The arrogance and separatist actions of those who think they have become the government after winning a few extra municipalities by chance due to cyclical reasons through the dirty alliance they have formed actually reveal their true faces and provide a clue as to what they would do if they were to seize power, God forbid."
