MHP reacts to Istanbul poll on CNN Türk! 'Ahmet Hakan is working against us'

As the local elections approach, the results of an Istanbul poll announced by Hakan Bayrakçı, owner of SONAR Research—known for its proximity to the government—on the Tarafsız Bölge program hosted by Ahmet Hakan on CNN Türk, have drawn a reaction from the MHP.

Bayrakçı stated that the current Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is leading in the poll. Following this, commentators known for their proximity to the government, Abdulkadir Selvi and Melik Yiğitel, expressed their surprise, while the remarks of the program's host, Ahmet Hakan, drew attention.

Hakan's words, "The IYI Party is leaning toward İmamoğlu, DEM voters are leaning toward İmamoğlu. I couldn't understand why Yeniden Refah voters aren't leaning toward Kurum," became a trending topic on social media.

The dialogues that took place on the program drew a reaction from the MHP, a partner in the People's Alliance.

Milliyetçi Hareket Partisi (MHP) Deputy Chairman responsible for Media, Promotion and Public Relations, İsmail Özdemir, claimed that Ahmet Hakan Coşkun is working against the People's Alliance by bringing SONAR President Hakan Bayrakçı onto CNN Türk screens.

In a statement on his social media account, Özdemir used the following expressions:

"It should surprise no one that Hakan Bayrakçı is displaying yet another example of the characteristic trait we know very well from the past on the program hosted by Ahmet Hakan on CNN Türk! This individual, along with the names he entered into dirty partnerships with, performed the ultimate manipulation of polls before the 1995 general elections, thus revealing his allegiance and character even back then. Today, it is not surprising to us that Ahmet Hakan keeps such a person on the screens and works specifically against the People's Alliance. The issue is that, despite it being known who these individuals are, they are practically being given a path to attempt to steer the national will. No matter what anyone does, Istanbul will surely reach its 'Murad' (desire/goal), the will of the People will render all perception games futile, and the legacy of Fatih will be entrusted to worthy and capable hands."
