MHP's Baki Ersoy evaluates investment funds regulation in the Turkish Parliament: It will contribute to economic confidence

MHP Kayseri Deputy Baki Ersoy spoke on behalf of the MHP Group regarding the second section of the "Draft Law on Certain Investment Funds Decided to be Liquidated," numbered 294, which is being discussed in the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Stating that the protection of citizens' savings and investor rights lies at the foundation of economic confidence, Ersoy said, "We believe that regulations that protect the labor of our citizens and facilitate the recovery of receivables by rights holders will contribute to economic confidence."

Explaining that the 6th article of the draft regulates the return of seized money and capital market instruments in investigations related to funds to the relevant fund or recovery account, Ersoy stated that it is envisaged that the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) be appointed as a trustee for assets that cannot be transferred to the fund, and that sales or liquidation can be carried out without waiting for the outcome of the lawsuit.

Ersoy expressed that it is an important safeguard that the resources to be tracked in separate sub-accounts for each fund can only be used for liquidation and payments to investors, and cannot be seized or pledged. He also noted that the 7th article of the draft allows the Capital Markets Board and the Investor Compensation Center to outsource certain services.

DRIVER'S LICENSE AMNESTY AND DEMANDS FOR KAYSERI

Touching upon the demands for a driver's license amnesty in his speech, Ersoy emphasized that for drivers, transporters, and tradespeople who earn their living by driving, a driver's license is an important part of working life. Stating that traffic safety and the deterrent effect of sanctions must be maintained, Ersoy said that a one-time regulation with clearly defined conditions could be evaluated for individuals who have not caused accidents resulting in death or injury.

Expressing that this approach should be supported by traffic training, health checks, and psychotechnical evaluations, Ersoy noted that the reintegration of citizens who meet the appropriate conditions into working life is important from a social and economic perspective.

Ersoy also drew attention to Kayseri's needs in youth and sports investments. Stating that amateur sports clubs in the city are experiencing problems in terms of facilities, training fields, and infrastructure opportunities, Ersoy requested that the resources allocated to Kayseri from the Ministry of Youth and Sports' investment budget be re-evaluated, taking into account the population, number of athletes, club density, and facility needs.

Pointing to the importance of accessible, well-equipped facilities where regular training can be conducted for amputee athletes in Kayseri, Ersoy called for the planning of new sports investments in the districts and for projects aimed at disabled athletes to be included in the investment program.
