Minimum wage call from the People's Alliance's junior partner: He announced the rate

Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici arrived in Rize for his party's 7th ordinary congress. After visiting shopkeepers on Cumhuriyet Street and chatting with citizens, Destici proceeded to the İsmail Kahraman Cultural Center, where the congress was to be held. Welcomed by the intense interest of party members, Destici stated that the program continued with the election of the council and the presentation of the activity report at the congress, which began with the singing of the National Anthem.

HE GAVE A FIGURE FOR THE MINIMUM WAGE

Following the opening speeches, Great Unity Party Chairman Mustafa Destici took the podium and addressed the participants. Destici said, “All increases are made according to inflation. Inflation in this country reached 50 percent in 2024. In January of this year, civil servants, retired civil servants, and retired workers all received a 50 percent raise. They received half in July and half in January. But the minimum wage earners only received one increase in January 2025. How much was it? It was 30 percent. Inflation came out at 50 percent, but the minimum wage was increased by 30 percent. We say that the minimum wage earner is owed 20 percent from there. This 2025 inflation will also come out at 30-31 percent. In that case, we must increase the minimum wage by at least 50 percent and bring it to the 33 thousand lira level. Anything else will not save our minimum wage earners and will not provide for their basic livelihood. That is why we say that the minimum wage should be increased by at least 50 percent to 33 thousand liras.”

"OUR POPULATION IS DECREASING"

Touching on the birth rate in Turkey, Destici said, “We are among the 7 countries in the world whose lineage is dying out the fastest in the last 7 years. In other words, our population is decreasing. What rank are we in? 5th place. It was 2.08 seven years ago. Now it is 1.51. When is this? This is the end-of-2024 report. Now, in the end-of-2025 report, we will probably see that this 1.5 has fallen to 1.4. That is why we said that our state and our government declared 2025 the year of the family. And supporting the family, supporting having children, support for families with children, per-child support. All of these have been increased. But do all these things work? It is not enough. More permanent, inclusive, and radical measures need to be taken. This is a matter of survival for a country, for a state, for a nation. Because societies exist with their populations. Just like families. There are families around us. What happens to those who have no children or one child? After a certain period, their lineage dies out. They cannot continue their lineage. Countries are like this, nations are like this. If you cannot protect your population, if you cannot at least maintain the current level even if you cannot grow, you are forced to disappear or fall to the bottom of the demographic structure and come under the sovereignty of others. That is why we are drawing attention to this issue. And we say let's encourage marriages, let's raise awareness among our families on this issue. Let's encourage them to have children after they get married. We said that the state, the government, our non-governmental organizations, all of us, and political parties should support this campaign.”

"IT WAS A TOKEN DISARMAMENT"

Making evaluations regarding a Turkey without terrorism, Destici said, “For initiatives similar to the solution process, whether it is the 2013-2015 period or the current stage, to be successful, there are two basic conditions. One is transparency, and two is social consensus. The society must show consent. Yes, perhaps half of the society supports this process. Even a little more than half. But the majority of the society does not believe that this process will reach success. Why? Because those in front of us are traitors. The leash of those in front of us is in the hands of imperialists, America, and others. Therefore, they cannot reveal a will of their own until that leash is removed from their necks. And indeed, it was a token disarmament. It was a token exit, but it did not continue. Is the PKK still continuing with all its elements? It is. Has it laid down its arms? It has not. Has it dissolved itself? It has not. Then, first, the PKK will lay down its arms with all its elements. It will dissolve all its elements. Armed or unarmed. The PYD and YPG in Syria will unconditionally be subject to the Syrian central government without receiving any privileges. Therefore, without all of these happening, the Republic of Turkey should never make any changes to its laws or constitution. Let alone thinking about removing the PKK from the terrorist organization list, no one should even let such a word come out of their mouth.”
