Minimum wage criticism from People's Alliance partner
BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici stated that he finds the minimum wage increase rate insufficient and emphasized that more decisive steps must be taken in the fight against terrorism.
Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici made statements regarding important issues on the agenda during a press conference held at his party's headquarters. While criticizing the minimum wage increase rate, Destici emphasized that clearer steps must be taken in the fight against terrorism.
Destici stated that the minimum wage was increased by 27 percent to 28,075 TL, but that this increase does not reflect the value of the worker's labor. The BBP leader said, "The minimum wage is not charity; it is the worker's right. The announced figure is far from meeting the real living conditions of millions of workers." Stating that a 50 percent increase would have been fairer, Destici added, "This rate deepens families' financial difficulties instead of alleviating them."
A DETERMINED STANCE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM
Destici also shared his views on the new opening process carried out by the government within the scope of the 'Terror-Free Turkey' goal. Stating that commission work should not continue unless the PKK, along with all its extensions, lays down its arms and dissolves itself, Destici said, "If this process continues without them laying down their arms, this situation could embolden the terrorist organization."
PLANE CRASH IN LIBYA
Speaking about the plane crash carrying Libyan Chief of General Staff General Mohamed Ali Al-Haddad and his delegation, Destici wished mercy upon those who lost their lives. Stating that the plane's black box has been found, Destici said he hopes the cause of the accident will be clarified thanks to these records.
Destici's statements clearly set forth his criticisms and demands regarding the government on the issues of the minimum wage and the fight against terrorism.
