In Rize, MHP Derepazarı District Chair Şaban Kap lost his life as a result of an armed attack. The moment of the attack was captured by the security cameras of a nearby business.

The footage shows the attacker, Bayram Kalça, getting off an ATV and raining bullets on Şaban Kap, followed by the moment Kap collapses to the ground.

After the attack, Kalça is seen getting back into his vehicle and fleeing the scene, while citizens in the vicinity who heard the gunshots are seen running to help Şaban Kap. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the incident that took place on Monday, August 26, at the Çaykur-owned Tersane Tea Factory in the Derepazarı district of Rize, MHP Derepazarı District Chair Şaban Kap was shot and killed at the tea factory where he worked by his colleague Bayram Kalça, with whom he had argued the day before.

Following the incident, Bayram Kalça fled, then went to the police station to surrender, and was subsequently arrested and sent to Rize Kalkandere L-Type Prison.
