Muharrem İnce's question to the government on the PKK: Is this just a name change and window dressing?
Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce directed sharp questions at the government following the terrorist organization PKK's decision to dissolve and lay down arms. Asking, "For the sake of what interests were the memory of the martyrs, Turkey's unitary structure, and the Treaty of Lausanne put on the table?" İnce asked, "The terrorist organization PKK announces it is dissolving itself. But what about its umbrella organization, the KCK? Has the KCK also been dissolved?"
Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce made evaluations regarding the terrorist organization PKK's decision to dissolve itself in a statement on his social media account. Stating that the decision is not limited to the dimensions reflected to the public, İnce directed a series of critical questions to the government.
İnce said, "The PKK says it has dissolved, but what will happen to its umbrella structure, the KCK? Organizations like the HPG in Iraq, the YPG in Syria, and the PJAK in Iran are still continuing their activities. Is this just a name change and window dressing?"
Emphasizing that they, like everyone else, desire peace and an end to terrorism, İnce said, "However, we are asking on behalf of the nation: What was bargained for behind closed doors? While the blood of tens of thousands of our nation's children is still fresh, for the sake of what interests did you negotiate the cherished memory of the martyrs, the unitary structure of the Republic of Turkey, and the Treaty of Lausanne?"
İnce's statement is as follows:
"The terrorist organization PKK announces it is dissolving itself. But what about its umbrella organization, the KCK? Has the KCK also been dissolved? Are its sub-branches—the HPG in Iraq, the YPG in Syria, and the PJAK in Iran—still continuing their activities? Or is this just an attempt to deceive the nation by changing names? We want the end of terrorism and the arrival of a climate of peace more than anyone else. However, with whom and what did you bargain behind closed doors? It is our right to know this. While the blood of tens of thousands of our nation's children is still fresh, for the sake of what interests did you put the memory of our martyrs, the unitary structure of the Republic of Turkey, and the Treaty of Lausanne on the table? Is it true that this is the entire issue you agreed upon regarding the constitutional amendment that will get Erdoğan re-elected? If these are true, how will you account for this betrayal to the Turkish nation? Do the cries of the martyrs' families not reach your ears?"
