Murat Emir responds to Mehmet Uçum’s assessment of the YENİ Party: 'If you have the courage, we are waiting'

A response has come from the YENİ Party regarding the assessment made by Mehmet Uçum, Chief Advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, concerning the YENİ Party, which was founded by 91 deputies who left the CHP.

YENİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir replied on his social media account to Uçum’s article, which included phrases such as "political tabloid" and "the CHP is ultimately still the CHP. The flood passes, the sand remains."

In his statement, Emir used the following expressions:

''Belittling is the cheapest mask of fear. The picture you turn your nose up at by calling it “political tabloid” is actually shaking your protected comfort zone under the shadow of a single signature quite badly. It is easy to pontificate with the arrogance of being appointed; the issue is to be able to step onto the scales at the ballot box in the first election. If you have the courage, we are waiting''

WHAT DID UÇUM SAY?

In his article titled “A brief assessment on the CHP and the YENİ Party!”, Mehmet Uçum argued that the split did not stem from differences in worldview or general policy. Uçum stated that the discussions were focused on “personal or group agendas.”

Claiming that the YENİ Party would not be able to produce original policy, Uçum assessed that “with this split, the CHP has essentially entered a cleansing process in line with the purification perspective they have set before them.”

Uçum also pointed to the process experienced in the CHP following a court decision, stating that he viewed the establishment of the new party as a “political tabloid discussion.”
