Murat Kurum directive from Devlet Bahçeli to his hometown of Osmaniye

A new neighborhood will be created in Osmaniye in the area where permanent residences are being built for citizens affected by the earthquakes on February 6, 2023. It is planned to name this neighborhood after the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum.

This name change, which came to the agenda upon the proposal of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, will be discussed at the Osmaniye Municipality's November meeting.

In a statement made by the Osmaniye Municipality, it was stated that the naming of the new neighborhood as "Murat Kurum Bey Neighborhood" was taken onto the agenda in line with the instructions of Devlet Bahçeli.

The statement is as follows:

"In order to solve the demands and needs of our fellow citizens from Osmaniye who have settled in the area where permanent residences are rising and common living spaces are being born in our city center, the office of the headman (muhtar), which is the first step institution of democracy, has been brought to the agenda as 'Murat Kurum Bey Neighborhood' with the proposal and instructions of our Chairman and fellow townsman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, to be decided upon in the November council meeting of our Osmaniye Municipality."
