Müsavat Dervişoğlu criticizes the penal execution system: 'Violence is being encouraged'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu spoke at the final declaration meeting of the "Violence and Combating Violence Workshop" organized by his party's Women, Family and Social Services Presidency.

Dervişoğlu leveled harsh criticisms at the penal execution system in Turkey and the legal regulations aimed at protecting women.

Stating that existing laws are not being implemented effectively, Dervişoğlu said, "The flaws in the penal execution system encourage violence rather than deterring it. Women's requests for protection are not being met, and the precautionary decisions taken remain only on paper. Children have been left vulnerable to neglect and abuse. They are being left in need of protection by families and society. Necessary training programs on gender equality and awareness have not been widespread. The solution to all these problems is only possible with a strong political will and decisive steps," he stated.

''IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION''

Calling on the government, Dervişoğlu continued his words as follows:

"Preventing violence is a humanitarian duty that cannot be postponed or neglected. The measures not taken today will form the foundation of tomorrow's social disasters. It is time to take action instead of making excuses.

As the İYİ Party, we represent a political understanding that not only voices problems but also produces solutions. We are always ready to take responsibility for the peace and welfare of society."

Dervişoğlu’s statements coincided with the workshop's recommendations regarding the need to develop solution-oriented policies on combating violence. Participants emphasized the importance of raising awareness in society and developing effective practices.
