Mustafa Destici on Akşener's decision to hold a congress: She is keeping her word!

BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici, who celebrated the Ramadan Feast with party members at the BBP Headquarters, made evaluations regarding the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, developments in political parties, and the oppression in Gaza during his speech there.

Wishing patience and offering his condolences to Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, whose three children and grandchildren lost their lives in an Israeli attack, Destici pointed out that Turkey is one of the countries that has given the strongest reaction to Israel's attacks on Gaza.

Destici indicated that aid to Gaza should be increased through collective effort.

AKŞENER NOT RUNNING IN THE CONGRESS

BBP Chairman Destici also answered questions from members of the press during the celebration program.

In response to a question regarding İYI Party Chairman Meral Akşener's announcement that she will not be a candidate at the extraordinary congress, Destici made the following assessments:

"Ms. Akşener is showing that she is keeping the promise she made before the election, and for this reason, she says she will not be a candidate. But I would expect those who set out with her and accepted her as their leader to not immediately announce their own candidacies as if an opportunity had suddenly appeared when she said 'I will not be a candidate'... I do not know how appropriate this is in terms of political ethics or loyalty in politics. Whereas, what falls upon those cadres is to say, 'You gave your word and are not running, but we are not letting you go and we want you to be a candidate again.' They should have made her a candidate and at least fought for this.

If founding leaders leave their parties while they are still alive in Turkey, it is not possible for that party to continue its path strongly or to maintain its unity and solidarity."

Stating that Akşener and her party have charted a path for themselves after the general elections, Destici shared the view that İYI Party delegates could nominate Akşener and that Akşener would not be able to remain indifferent to this demand from the grassroots.

7 PARTIES VISITED

On the other hand, delegations from DSP, AK Party, CHP, İYI Party, DEVA, HÜDA PAR, and New Welfare Party visited the BBP for the Ramadan Feast.

The delegations arriving at the BBP Headquarters were hosted by Deputy Chairmen Nihat Gürbüz and Ahmet Emin Serin, MKYK member Hayrettin Bal, and Headquarters Women's Branch Deputy Chairwoman Pınar Yıldız.

Delegations from DSP, AK Party, CHP, İYI Party, DEVA, HÜDA PAR, and New Welfare Party participated in the visit.

During the inter-party holiday celebration visit, national issues, the Palestine issue, the results of the March 31 General Elections, and topics related to the People's Alliance were discussed.
