Mustafa Sarıgül responds to 'fraud' allegations regarding his son Emir Sarıgül

Republican People's Party (CHP) Erzincan MP and former Mayor of Şişli, Mustafa Sarıgül, has denied the allegations of 'qualified fraud' made against his son, Emir Sarıgül, by Iranian businessman Hüseyin Azari.

ALLEGATION OF 250 MILLION LIRA FRAUD

According to reports in the press, Iranian businessman Hüseyin Azari has filed a criminal complaint against Emir Sarıgül with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In the complaint petition, it was alleged that Sarıgül committed fraud amounting to approximately 250 million liras by using his father Mustafa Sarıgül's political identity to promote projects in Göktürk, Beykoz, Nişantaşı, and Erzincan that do not actually exist.

ALLEGED PRESIDENTIAL-APPROVED PROJECT

According to the allegations, Emir Sarıgül presented certain plots of land in Göktürk and Beykoz as 'Presidential-approved projects.'

It was claimed that there are no official project records or zoning permits for the projects mentioned by Sarıgül, who allegedly received large sums of money from Azari in this context.

NİŞANTAŞI AND BEŞİKTAŞ MUNICIPALITY DETAIL

In a report published in the Sabah newspaper, it was alleged that Sarıgül 'created an environment of political trust' in another project in Nişantaşı by using the names of the Beşiktaş Municipality and former Şişli Mayor Muammer Keskin.

DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS

Mustafa Sarıgül, in a message conveyed to members of the press through his advisor, stated that the allegations against him were 'completely false.'

While expressing that there is no concrete evidence regarding the matter, Sarıgül emphasized that the accusations reflected in the public domain do not reflect the truth.
