President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's 2018 election promise of Nation's Gardens has hit an 'austerity' roadblock.
According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün, it has been reported that TOKİ has instructed contractors of Nation's Gardens with a progress rate of less than 75 percent to "stop work."
According to information obtained from tender records, 213 million 864 thousand 308 TL was spent within the scope of 11 tenders held for Nation's Gardens between January and May. Six of the tenders were conducted via the negotiated procedure, while three were conducted via open tender.
Some of the expenditures made for the Nation's Gardens, which led to a spending of 213.8 million TL in the January-May 2024 period, are as follows:
Plant Procurement Work Required for Aydos Nation's Garden: 1 million 943 thousand 600 TL
Construction of Social Facilities, Infrastructure, and Landscaping for the Nation's Garden in the Central District of Edirne, Bülbüladası, Karaağaç-2, and Karaağaç-3 Neighborhoods (Meriç River): 186 million 600 thousand TL
Procurement of Furniture and Kitchen Supplies for Beykoz Nation's Garden: 15 million 785 thousand 500 TL
Procurement of Animal Manure and Peat for Use in Grass Seeding at Eyyübiye Nation's Garden: 1 million 976 thousand TL
