New arrest in Bayrampaşa investigation
As part of the operation conducted against the Bayrampaşa Municipality, Baytaş A.Ş. Chairman of the Board Selim Mataracı has been arrested; previously, many individuals, including Mayor Hasan Mutlu and Chief of Staff Rıdvan Öztürk, had been detained during the process.
The operation targeting the Bayrampaşa Municipality was carried out on September 13, and detention warrants were issued for 48 people, including Mayor Hasan Mutlu. Among those detained was Mutlu's Chief of Staff, Rıdvan Öztürk.
ARRESTS AND RELEASES
Within the scope of the investigation, a total of 26 people, including Hasan Mutlu, were arrested on September 16. It was learned that Chief of Staff Rıdvan Öztürk, who was among those arrested, was released approximately two months later. It was alleged that the release decision was made in accordance with "effective remorse" provisions.
Following these developments, information was shared that Selim Mataracı, Chairman of the Board of the municipal subsidiary Baytaş A.Ş., had been summoned to provide a statement. It was stated that Mataracı was included in the case file in parallel with the course of the investigation.
