A new era begins in the AKP following the election defeat! Erdoğan's approval has been secured...

The March 31 Local Elections saw the AKP fall to the position of the second-largest party in Turkey for the first time, and the reasons for this election defeat continue to be investigated.

In this direction, the AKP held a consultation and evaluation meeting in Kızılcahamam last week.

Reform decisions were made at the meeting, which was also attended by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to a report by the Türkiye newspaper, known for its proximity to the government, it was learned that AKP officials stated, “The President has been consulted. His approval has been obtained. From now on, the next 4-year period will be entirely a reform process.”

Stating that the main outlines of the steps to be taken will be in the fields of economy and law, AKP officials assessed, “Steps will be taken to establish trust, especially in these two areas. In this process, we may, of course, encounter resistance from the bureaucracy or our alliance partners. There may be moments when we stumble. But all of this will not hold us back from reform steps. What is important here is to demonstrate the will to carry out reforms.”

The officials pointed out that for the AKP to move away from “internal strife,” “changing those sitting in the seats” would not be enough.
