New Party's election plan leaked from behind the scenes! Plan B is ready

Founded with 91 deputies under the leadership of Özgür Özel, the New Party is preparing to accelerate its organization, congress, and election preparations at the end of the first 2.5 months following its establishment.

Having moved to its new headquarters and initiated organizational efforts in 81 provinces, the party's primary goal is to complete its provincial and district congresses. Following this, it is envisioned that the party's management cadres will be shaped and the final versions of the program and bylaws will be completed during the ordinary congress planned for November 14-15.

According to a report by Ayşe Sayın from the BBC, it is assessed in party circles that if the congress is held in mid-November, the New Party will gain the eligibility to enter elections by mid-May due to the time requirements in the Law on Political Parties. However, it is stated that a 'backup party' option that already has the eligibility to enter elections is being kept on the table against the possibility of potential changes in election law.

GOAL OF INCLUSIVE ORGANIZATION

The New Party plans to establish a bottom-up organizational model through provincial and district congresses until the congress. According to the approach in the bylaws, it is aimed to conduct congress processes starting from the neighborhoods with the participation of members.

In a circular sent to the provinces by the headquarters, it was requested that the administrations reflect local characteristics and encompass different social segments. According to party officials, a gender balance will be observed, the inclusion of young people in organizations will be supported, and representatives from professional organizations, unions, and civil society will be encouraged to be present in the administrations.

It is planned to take into account the social, economic, and demographic structure of the districts in organization. It is aimed to include industrialists in industrial zones, rural representation in districts with villages, and names that reflect this diversity in regions with different demographic structures in the administrations.

Party sources state that they want not only the winning list but also the different competing groups to be reflected in the administrations as much as possible in internal elections. It is stated that this approach is consistent with Özel's call to bring together different political and social segments under the umbrella of the 'Turkey Alliance'.

Limited changes are expected to be made to the bylaws, which were prepared to act quickly during the establishment phase, along with the congress. Instead of a comprehensive revision, the addition of an Ethics Committee, a Party School, and some advisory boards to the bylaws is on the agenda.

ELECTION PREPARATION AND LEGAL SCENARIOS

It is also planned to restructure the policy work that the party previously carried out within the scope of a 'shadow cabinet' and the Presidential Candidate Office. In the corridors, it is being evaluated that these works should be carried out through policy boards to be established under the headings of economy, security, law and justice, foreign policy, and social policy instead of the name 'shadow cabinet'.

The boards are expected to produce policies in line with the party program and prepare concrete proposals during the election period. It is stated that areas such as education, health, and family can be handled under the heading of social policy.

The main goal of the New Party after the congress is to create an organizational structure ready for elections. Along with this, the party leadership is closely monitoring the election calendar as well as regulations that could affect the conditions for political parties to participate in elections.

According to party sources, work is being carried out regarding congress processes to make a backup party, whose name has not been disclosed to the public, eligible to enter elections. This step is considered a safeguard against potential changes that could be made to election law.

The attitude of the Court of Cassation regarding the file following the CHP administration's waiver of its appeal is also one of the topics followed in New Party circles. It is stated in party circles that in the event of a possible 'absolute nullity' decision, the cadres who moved to the New Party with Özel are not expected to return to the CHP.

Another concern voiced within the party is not the possibility of the election not being held, but the damage to the voter's trust in the ballot box and election results. Operations against municipalities, changes in political balances in municipal councils, and processes that could be carried out through parliamentary immunity are evaluated within this scope.

New Party sources are of the opinion that the political struggle in the coming period should focus on convincing the voter. The party leadership aims to both complete its organizational structure and accelerate political and legal preparations for the election period with the congress.
