Özel will present the names he proposes for the 60-member PM to the delegates with a key list. No major changes are expected in the PM or the Central Executive Board (MYK) at the convention, which is being held against the risk of a trustee being appointed to the party.

A RIVAL EMERGES FOR ÖZEL

On the other hand, Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal announced his candidacy for chairman through a statement on social media. Emphasizing that "the CHP must implement democratic processes," Uysal expressed his determination to offer his 33 years of political experience to the service of the party. Uysal needs to collect the signatures of 69 delegates to be able to run as a candidate.

THE NEW ROLE OF THE SHADOW CABINET

According to the report by Cumhuriyet, it is on the agenda at the convention to restructure the Shadow Cabinet to take an active role in the election campaign of Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu. İmamoğlu's plans to establish presidential offices in Ankara and Istanbul will allow Shadow Cabinet members to work more in these offices. CHP staff state that these developments will contribute to the party's election strategies and the process of preparing for the governance of the country.
