New statement from MHP as crisis allegations in the People's Alliance remain on the agenda
While MHP's Semih Yalçın made statements regarding the new solution process, allegations of a "rift" in the People's Alliance had surfaced following Devlet Bahçeli's absence from the October 29 reception.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's absence from the October 29 Republic Day reception has brought allegations of a "rift" within the People's Alliance back to the agenda. In addition to Bahçeli, no other high-ranking MHP officials attended the ceremony. Many interpretations have linked MHP's decision not to attend the reception to tensions within the People's Alliance. Differences between Bahçeli's statements, particularly regarding the TRNC election results, and the stance of the AKP have been cited as reasons behind this tension.
STATEMENT ON THE "SOLUTION PROCESS" FROM SEMİH YALÇIN
MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın issued a written statement evaluating the steps his party has taken in line with its goal of a "Terror-Free Turkey." Yalçın underlined that ending the fight against terrorism in Turkey is a process parallel to the geopolitical transformation in the Middle East. Yalçın stated that the concept of a "Terror-Free Turkey" is a critical step toward ensuring Turkey's internal peace and emphasized that the steps taken by the MHP in this process are of great importance.
"IMPERIALIST COUNTRIES AND THEIR SUB-CONTRACTORS HAVE USED TERRORISM"
In his statement, Yalçın noted that international terrorism has caused great destruction in the Middle East, saying, "Imperialist countries and their sub-contractors have used terrorism to the fullest extent." He further expressed that the MHP's "Terror-Free Turkey" approach aims to contribute to peace not only within the country but also in the region.
IS THERE A DISAGREEMENT WITHIN THE ALLIANCE?
The MHP's absence from the October 29 reception and the tension Bahçeli has experienced with the ruling party have strengthened claims that a new rift has emerged within the People's Alliance. In particular, the differences between Bahçeli's statements on the TRNC presidential elections and President Erdoğan's views on the election results drew attention. Following the election results, Bahçeli had called for the TRNC to join Turkey, while Erdoğan had announced that relations with the current administration in Northern Cyprus would continue as they were. This situation has sparked a new debate regarding the differences emerging within the People's Alliance.
"MHP'S CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIAL PEACE WILL CONTINUE"
Semih Yalçın emphasized that the MHP fulfills its responsibility in the fight against terrorism and in ensuring internal peace with the "spirit of the Republic."
