New constitution statement from the New Welfare Party! Will they provide support?

Following the New Welfare Party (YRP) Ordinary Central Executive Board meeting, YRP Deputy Chairman Suat Kılıç made a statement regarding the AKP's new constitution efforts, saying, "If a set of articles is presented that will facilitate the administration of the Republic of Turkey, increase the quality of life of our citizens, and contribute to the elimination of problems that the government claims are obstacles to solving issues, the YRP will evaluate it within its legal boards and governing bodies. It will then reveal its decision on whether or not to support the constitution within the framework it deems necessary."

New constitution statement from the New Welfare Party! Will they provide support?

The New Welfare Party (YRP) Ordinary Central Executive Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Fatih Erbakan.

Following the meeting, YRP Deputy Chairman Suat Kılıç made statements. In the press conference he held, Kılıç touched upon topics such as stray street animals, the new constitution, and pension payments.

Kılıç's statements are as follows;

"The issue of stray street dogs is a very important street issue in Turkey. This subject is gaining a dramatic and traumatic dimension.

Stray animals, whose clustering on the streets is unclear, are being fed by individuals whose identities are unknown. No sterilization is being performed.

The population of stray animals across Turkey is estimated to be 16 million.

This may be feeding the pet food industry; the pet food lobby might be pleased with the situation, and the vaccine industry might be pleased. But women are not pleased, children are not, and the city residents are not pleased with this situation.

This is our open call to all winning mayors, especially the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor;

You have no excuses left. Just as you won the municipalities, you also won the majority in their councils.

You must join hands and work together with the 25 district mayors in Ankara, 16 of whom are from the CHP, to clear your streets of the stray animal population.

If you don't know how, let me explain: in the first step, you will carry out effective sterilization. In the second step, you will facilitate adoption by animal lovers, and in the third step, you will prevent uncontrolled reproduction by gathering the animals left stray on the streets into shelters that respect animal rights.

Naturally, when their lifespans end, the stray animal population will be depleted. Thus, city streets will become safe.

In the event of a street dog bite, it is inevitable that a treatment procedure will be applied, ranging from tetanus shots to up to 5 doses of rabies vaccines.

The cost of feeding is one thing, but the cost of not being able to go out on the street is something else entirely.

Children cannot get on school buses. Women who have to go to work early in the morning cannot fend for themselves. Even adult men cannot protect themselves from street dogs.

For those who do not know, we say it once again: streets, sidewalks, and roads are not for stray dogs, but for the people who live in the city, pay their taxes, and live respectfully in the city; they are for women and for children. This issue is very important; it is a very chronic problem that cannot tolerate being put on hold.

STATEMENT ON THE NEW CONSTITUTION

One of the topics on the national agenda is constitutional amendment.

As is known, there is a constitutional amendment proposal on Turkey's agenda. Since there is no text yet that has been updated, signed, finalized, and submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for deliberation, we cannot go into the details.

However, if a set of articles is presented that will facilitate the administration of the Republic of Turkey, increase the quality of life of our citizens, and contribute to the elimination of problems that the government claims are obstacles to solving issues, the YRP will evaluate it within its legal boards and governing bodies. It will then reveal its decision on whether or not to support the constitution within the framework it deems necessary.

As we have stated on every platform, the YRP's stance is clear and unequivocal. We call right, right, and wrong, wrong.

We provide support where support is needed. What matters is the peace of our people, the increase in their quality of life, and Turkey becoming a country that is easier and more manageable. But it should be accepted that it is impossible for us to support a constitutional amendment whose articles we have not seen, do not know, and have not heard.

I am expressing the impossibility of supporting a constitutional amendment in advance without seeing, hearing, knowing, or reading it."
