No response to Buğra Gökce's request for 44 days

Buğra Gökce, President of the Istanbul Planning Agency (İPA) who was arrested as part of an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, married his fiancée Filiz Kahveci in Silivri Prison on May 28, 2025.

The wedding was officiated by Silivri Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu. The witnesses to the wedding were CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan. Gökce was granted permission to meet with his family by the prison administration at the last minute before the wedding.

WEDDING PHOTOS NOT GIVEN TO THE FAMILY

It has been learned that although 44 days have passed since the wedding, the wedding photos requested by the Gökce family from the prison administration have not yet been delivered. Announcing this situation on social media, CHP Deputy Umut Akdoğan reacted to this practice against the family.

CHP's Umut Akdoğan reacted to the failure to meet a humanitarian request on his X account with the following words:

"Shall we get an idea about how those in power conduct their business from an event that seems small?

On May 28, Buğra Gökce got married in Silivri Dungeon. Our Chairman and I served as witnesses to the wedding. We also had photos taken inside. The prison administration took them.

His family has been requesting the photos for exactly 20 days. Is it that important? It means it is important to them... What is the harm in such a tiny desire?

The frames taken 22 days ago, that is, 44 days in total, are not being given either.

What could be the logic behind this?

Why is this simple and humanitarian request not being met?"
