Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş made significant statements regarding the terror-free Turkey process during a television broadcast he attended following an event in Şırnak. Kurtulmuş stated that the process is progressing better than the 2013-2015 period and could be completed before the end of summer.

EMPHASIS ON LAUSANNE AND NATIONAL UNITY

Addressing the PKK's decision to lay down arms, Kurtulmuş noted that the Treaty of Lausanne is Turkey's founding agreement. He drew attention to the importance of Lausanne, stating, "It is impossible to accept any words that would disrupt national unity and solidarity in Turkey."

BAHÇELİ'S CALL FOR A COMMISSION

Responding to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's proposal to establish a commission in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Kurtulmuş said, "The Parliament is the address. How the commission will be formed can be discussed." This statement indicated that the process would be conducted under the roof of the TBMM.

Expressing his hope that the process will be completed without provocations, Kurtulmuş said, "There will be no more laments, people will not die. Weapons will fall silent, and a peaceful environment where songs of brotherhood are sung will prevail."
