Numan Kurtulmuş calls on 3 parties to appoint members
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş has called on 3 parties to appoint members to the commission established following the second resolution process.
Following the terrorist organization PKK's so-called disarmament ceremony, a commission named National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy was established in Parliament, where all eyes have turned. This commission has held its first 2 meetings.
The IYI Party did not send any members to the commission meetings.
In a statement from the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), it was stated, "As the IYI Party Group has notified the Office of the Speaker of the Parliament of its decision not to participate in the commission's work, the 3 memberships allocated to this group remain vacant. Accordingly, the number of memberships to be provided to the commission by political party groups has been recalculated, and the AK Party, CHP, and DEM Party have been requested to notify the Office of the Speaker of the Parliament of the names of the deputies they will assign for the additional 1 membership allocated to each by 17:00 on Monday, August 11, 2025."
The number of members for the AKP in the commission will rise to 22, the CHP to 11, and the DEM Party to 5. The total number of members in the commission will be 51.
