New constitution efforts by Numan Kurtulmuş: He met with TİP and EMEP
Numan Kurtulmuş received Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Chairman Erkan Baş and Labour Party (EMEP) Chairman Seyit Aslan at his office. Baş stated that he would make a statement at a press conference upon leaving.
Labour Party (EMEP) Chairman Seyit Aslan, in his statement after meeting with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, stated that a Constitution written by the September 12 junta, with every article being anti-democratic, does not meet the needs of workers and laborers today, adding, “This Constitution is one that dynamites social peace. The appointment of a trustee instead of the immediate detention of a mayor who received the public's vote and earned the right to representation just two days ago on March 31 is a picture of the anti-democratic process we are going through.”
