Objection filed against the detention of IMM official Ramazan Gülten
Following the arrest of Ramazan Gülten, Head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Department of Zoning and Urban Planning, as part of the second wave of operations, his lawyers have filed an objection to his detention. Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz shared the petition with the public, stating that there is no concrete evidence linking his client to the alleged crime.
Ramazan Gülten, Head of the IMM Department of Zoning and Urban Planning and Acting Deputy Secretary General, who was among those arrested as part of the second wave of operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), has been in prison for nearly 2 weeks.

Hüseyin Ersöz, one of Gülten's lawyers, announced that they have filed an objection to the detention. Sharing the objection petition on his social media account, Ersöz stated the following:
"In the objection petition, it is stated in summary, with reference to the Court of Accounts Reports and the Decision of the 1st Chamber of the Council of State regarding the period in which the crime is alleged, that the material and moral elements of the accusations of 'bribery' and 'being a member of a criminal organization' have not been established, that there is no concrete information in the file indicating that Ramazan Gülten obtained an unfair advantage, and on the contrary, Ramazan Gülten, who leads a life proportional to his income both in terms of his private life and living conditions, has not encountered any similar criminal accusations or administrative investigations, including in the municipalities where he worked in the past.
A review must be conducted within 3 days regarding the petition we submitted to the Istanbul 3rd Criminal Judgeship of Peace, which issued the arrest warrant, and if the decision is not reversed, our objection petition must be sent to the Istanbul Duty Criminal Court of First Instance."
