Oktay Vural targets Ekrem İmamoğlu: 'You cannot hunt a Gray Wolf with a rabbit trap'

The tension between the İYİ Party, which decided to enter the local elections 'free and independent', and the CHP continues.

Speaking in Uşak, İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener had targeted IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, saying, "Both of them got scared and did not accept the will of the nation."

İMAMOĞLU: AN OLD FRIEND DOES NOT BECOME AN ENEMY

In his response to Akşener, İmamoğlu stated, "I have said what I had to say. I have closed that book. I am looking ahead. There is nothing else I will express at this stage. An old friend does not become an enemy. I no longer find it appropriate to talk about small details."

After Akşener, İYİ Party Political Affairs Chair Oktay Vural also targeted İmamoğlu.

'THE GAME HAS BEEN EXPOSED'

Vural used the following expressions in his post on his X account:

"I wish you had minded your own business. You should not have schemed to circumvent the decisions of institutions while they were in place. What he calls a detail is actually the essence. Those who do not abide by the indispensable institutions and rules of democracy will be of no benefit to our democracy, the national will, or the future. The game has been exposed. Now try to wriggle out of this setup. Appear as if you are on the side of justice... There is no such thing... You cannot hunt a Gray Wolf with a rabbit trap."
