Ömer Çelik reacts to 'dictator' rhetoric: These statements are null and void
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik described the comparison of President Erdoğan to the Franco dictatorship as a "lack of reason and common sense."
AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik reacted to the "dictator" rhetoric directed at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in a statement posted on his social media account.
Çelik stated that Erdoğan has repeatedly "come to office through the free will of the nation and democratic elections," arguing that the President is one of the most experienced leaders among those who have come to power through democratic elections.
"Comparing our President's political position to the Franco dictatorship is a lack of reason and common sense. This is also a moral problem regarding the national will."
In his statement, Çelik described the comparison as "mental and moral misery," stating that this approach reflects the mentality behind the problems Turkey has experienced in the past.
Çelik also criticized remarks implying that "there is no such party as the AK Party," saying that this is the "wish of a rotten mentality."
At the end of his statement, the AK Party Spokesperson used the following expressions: "These rotten statements are null and void. They are merely confessions from segments that have ill intentions for Turkey." he said.
