Ömer Çelik to Erkan Baş: You are acting as an interpreter for fascists

AKP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized the remarks made by TİP Chairman Erkan Baş regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. 

Ömer Çelik stated that Erkan Baş's statements are identical to the language used by fascists in Europe against President Erdoğan.

In a post on a social media platform, Çelik stated, "TİP Chairman Erkan Baş's words regarding our President are the same as the language used by fascists in Europe against our President. This is nothing more than 'acting as an interpreter' for European fascists."

The AKP Spokesperson emphasized that using the rhetoric of European fascists via a cut-copy-paste method is politically low-level. Describing Baş's statements as "fascist," Çelik said, "Targeting the Presidency, which has been elected multiple times through democratic elections and with the clear support of the national will, with such expressions is the very definition of hostility toward democracy and the people."

Çelik added that such statements, which emulate European fascists who name their parties 'populist' while engaging in hostility toward democracy, require the same response that is given to European fascists.
