Only 7 people attended the meeting where he announced his candidacy for CHP chairmanship

Bafra-born Mehmet Oğuz Kakıcı, believing that the CHP, of which his family has been a member for 3 generations, has strayed from its fundamental principles and reforms, became a candidate to challenge Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Organizing a meeting at the Gazi Stage to announce his candidacy, Kakıcı experienced the shock of his life. Starting his speech by addressing the 3 people listening to him, Kakıcı announced his candidacy for the CHP chairmanship at a meeting that was attended by a total of 7 people, including those who arrived later.

"THE 6 ARROWS OF THE CHP ARE BROKEN"

Stating that the current administration and the CHP have deviated from their principles and that this is why he is running for chairman, Mehmet Oğuz Kakıcı said, "The CHP has moved away from the principles of republicanism, populism, secularism, nationalism, statism, and reformism. Our party's 6 arrows are currently broken. As required by the party bylaws, any party member can be a candidate for chairman. I would like to declare that I will be a candidate for chairman at the 38th CHP Grand Congress. Two days before Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu became chairman, he said he was not a candidate for the presidency. Such a thing was not on his mind. Two days later, we saw that Kılıçdaroğlu was the new chairman of the CHP. It seems that 2 days is a sufficient amount of time to become the chairman of the CHP. There was a statement Kılıçdaroğlu made about leaving his position to someone new. He said, 'If there were someone clean, I would leave.' It was not a pleasant remark. I am a CHP member. He is not aware of me. Mr. Chairman, am I not clean? What kind of remark is this?"

Evaluating the fact that very few people supported him, Kakıcı said, "I describe the fact that very few people came to my candidacy announcement for the chairmanship as a 'disappointment.' I am sad; as a native of Samsun, I would have liked the CHP provincial organization to be behind me. I would have found that wise as well. As it appears, 7 people attended. Even though media members were informed, they did not come. These things saddened me a lot. My close friends and relatives came to support me. There are those who say my chance of winning is 'one in a million.' I think that is a bit of an exaggeration. I need a 1 in 100,000 chance. And I want to achieve this by scraping it out with my own hands. Maybe I cannot travel to all 81 provinces like others, but I know the power of social media. I will reach them through social media. I do not know if I can convince them or not."
