88-year-old Olcay Baykal passed away on Wednesday at the hospital where she was receiving treatment. Numerous figures from the world of politics attended the ceremony in Ankara.
It was observed that Özel, who arrived at the venue after Kılıçdaroğlu, extended his hand to the former chairman to shake hands. During the brief contact between the two, their distant demeanor drew attention.
Özel and Kılıçdaroğlu had previously shaken hands at the funeral ceremony held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) for former CHP deputy Orhan Sür on June 25.
