Speaking in Antalya, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced his party's first mayoral candidate.
Having left the party convention process behind, Republican People's Party (CHP) has accelerated its local election efforts. Chairman Özgür Özel held a widely attended meeting with his party's deputies in Antalya.
Manavgat Mayor Şükrü Sözen also accompanied Özgür Özel at the meeting held in Manavgat.
"THIS IS THE FIRST CANDIDACY ANNOUNCEMENT OF MY CHAIRMANSHIP"
At the meeting, the candidate determination process and cooperation for the local elections were discussed. Stating that those who want to be candidates in the local elections want to meet with him, CHP leader Özgür Özel said, "One of those who wanted to meet with me was Şükrü Sözen. He wanted to meet to leave his post. I am trying to persuade him. My disabled brothers and sisters told me, 'If Şükrü Sözen leaves, we will lose.' Manavgat is satisfied with him, the employees are satisfied with him. Mayor Şükrü, this is the first candidacy announcement of my chairmanship. Please accept it."
