Lawyers for CHP Chairman Özgür Özel have filed a compensation lawsuit following allegations made by AKP Secretary General Eyyüp Kadir İnan during a live broadcast.
According to information obtained, the lawsuit was filed after İnan brought up bribery allegations against Özel that had previously been a subject of debate. It was noted that İnan's statements also targeted Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek.
In his speech during the live broadcast, AKP Secretary General İnan targeted Özel and his colleagues, making allegations regarding gas stations.
Mr. Özgür Özel and his associates see gas stations as that dirty bribery location, the address where certain bags are delivered. They should keep Özgür Özel and his cronies away from gas stations in Manisa.
It had previously been stated that these allegations had surfaced in the public eye before, and that official records from the Ministry of Interior had demonstrated that Özel was in Ankara on January 15, 2024, the date in question regarding the allegations.
Following İnan's statements, Özel's lawyers took legal action. It was learned that a judicial process has been initiated with the filed compensation lawsuit due to the statements in question.
