Özgür Özel's 'Büyükerşen' response to Sözcü columnist Turan: 'Which of our candidates is a change-maker?'
CHP leader Özgür Özel responded to Sözcü columnist Rahmi Turan, who claimed that Eskişehir Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen was not nominated because he supported Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu during the party congress process, by asking, "Which of our metropolitan candidates is a change-maker?" Özel also told Turan, "This is a great injustice."
Sözcü columnist Rahmi Turan included the criticisms of Özgür Özel, who responded to his column today titled "A great injustice to Yılmaz Büyükerşen".
The relevant section from Turan's article is as follows:
"I am publishing the message sent by Özgür Özel exactly as it is, because I consider the right of reply to be sacred:
“Mr. Rahmi, I am Özgür Özel.
You know my love and respect for you, as well as my tolerance for criticism.
I was very saddened by your article today.
When the metropolitan candidates for Mersin, Adana, Bursa, Balıkesir, Aydın, and Hatay were the most prominent anti-change figures at the congress, on what line of fairness do you base your claim that Yılmaz Hoca not being a candidate is linked to Mr. Kemal, in a place where they were nominated?
Which of our metropolitan candidates is a change-maker?
Please don't do this; truly, your wisdom, experience, and professional background are not suited to making this assessment in this way.
All kinds of criticism are acceptable, but this is not. This is a great injustice.”
