Özgür Özel's response to Erdoğan on UAVs and UCAVs

In his speech at the Bilecik Public Meeting organized by his party on Tevfikbey Street, Özel asked voters for their support for Melek Mızrak Subaşı, the CHP's mayoral candidate for Bilecik. Addressing the discussions regarding the collective bargaining bonus, Özel provided information about the work they have done on this issue.

Stating that 34 thousand tons of meat were imported last year and that 7.2 billion dollars worth of live animals have been imported in the last 10 years, Özel noted the following:

"It is Ramadan now. People, retirees cannot find meat to put on their tables. Now, the lowest pension on November 3, 2002, the day Tayyip Erdoğan came to power, was 1.5 times the minimum wage. How much was it? In today's terms, it was 26 thousand liras. How much is the lowest pension today? 10 thousand liras. Back then it was 1.5 times. Today it is 60 percent of that, 0.6... Well, what about the lowest pension back then... Which calculation is infallible? It doesn't fail, the gold calculation doesn't fail, right? Back then, someone who went to the jeweler with the lowest pension could buy 8 quarter-gold coins. Today, someone who goes to the jeweler with the lowest pension of 10 thousand liras can buy 2.5 quarter-gold coins."

"I INVITE FARMERS TO OBJECT"

Özgür Özel claimed that the only sector that shrank in Turkey last year was agriculture, and argued that farmers' debts to banks increased by 88 percent in one year.

Stating that it is necessary to bring Republican People's Party municipalities to power to make the farmer the master of the nation again, Özel said, "It is necessary to implement farmer support programs and rural development programs. For this, we need the support of farmers in Bilecik, Marmara, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, the Aegean, and the Mediterranean. I invite farmers to show solidarity and object to the government on March 31."

CHP Chairman Özel continued as follows:

"A point we want to express here; Tayyip Bey is waiting for an answer. He says, 'We took the defense industry from here and brought it there. Why didn't they do these? They took them to Ankara, to Istanbul. They didn't do anything in the defense industry.' May God grant Tayyip Bey health and well-being. He thinks municipalities have aircraft factories. He thinks municipalities have UAV and UCAV factories, but he is insisting on an answer. Then let's say this; Tayyip Bey, then you shouldn't say 'they took them away.' You should say 'they brought them.' CHP municipalities brought service, solidarity, justice, love, and peace."

Touching on the issue of alliances, Özel said, "We say, 'The results will be good.' They say, 'But there is no alliance this time. There is an alliance on that side. There is no alliance on this side.' I made a great effort for there to be an alliance on our side. You saw it, right? We made a great effort, but they said, 'We will enter freely and independently.' We respected that. Sometimes they even got angry at us and complained. We said, 'May you be well.'"

Explaining that they have established the "Turkey alliance," Özel said, "The name of their alliance is the alliance of fear, the alliance of price hikes, the alliance of oppression; by the name they gave themselves, the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı). The name of our alliance is the alliance of solidarity, of being together, of winning hearts, of joining hands, of exalting love and happiness, of enriching the country all together, of saving the Republic again, of rebuilding it. The name of our alliance is the Turkey alliance."

In the program where CHP Deputy Chairman and Women's Branch Chairwoman Aylin Nazlıaka, CHP Provincial Chairman Ali Özdemir, and Bilecik Mayoral candidate Melek Mızrak Subaşı also addressed the participants, mayoral candidates for the center, districts, and towns, as well as candidates for the central, district, and provincial general assemblies were introduced.
