CHP Chairman Özgür Özel held a phone conversation with Ahmet Davutoğlu, who is under investigation on charges of "insulting the President."

It was stated that during the call, Özel conveyed his feelings of solidarity to Davutoğlu. The investigation was launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

It was reported that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated proceedings against Ahmet Davutoğlu, the Chairman of the dissolved Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), for the crime of "insulting the President."

It was noted that Davutoğlu is expected to go to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office today to provide his statement.
