Özgür Özel speaks harshly ahead of local elections: 'It is a betrayal of the CHP'

In his speech, Özel sent a message that they are not in an alliance with any political party and noted that their candidates are clear. Özel said, "The chairman of the party is Özgür Özel, and the candidate of this party, the party of Atatürkists, Republicans, and patriots, the Republican People's Party, is Zekai Sana.

There is no such desperation as: 'Sir, let the AK Party not win, let's support someone against them.' If a CHP member, while Zekai Sana is standing there, votes for the real AK Party member Enver Yılmaz just so the AK Party doesn't win, they are betraying their party, I swear by God, they are betraying their party," he said.

"THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN AGREEMENT"

Noting that liars and opportunists should never be given any credit, Özel said, "Regarding the Republican People's Party candidate Zekai Sana, I watched a video recently, a district in Ordu, it says; if there is no agreement, I will give both to the CHP, if there is an agreement, I will do this, I will do that.

As Özgür Özel, as the chairman of the party, I say do not ever give credit to liars and opportunists. There is no such thing as an agreement. The candidate of this party is Zekai Sana. When we give our word, it is final. 

There is nothing going on behind the scenes. When CHP members go to the ballot box, they will look at the candidates for village head (muhtar), and they will cast their vote for the one who is the most Atatürkist and the most Republican among them. They will take the other envelope and cast it for the CHP candidate in the district. They will look at the other envelope

and cast it for the CHP Municipal Council Member. They will cast their vote for the metropolitan municipality for me, for the party, for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, for Deniz Baykal, for Bülent Ecevit, for İsmet İnönü, and for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, period," he said.

Speaking about the IYI Party's Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Enver Yılmaz, Özel said, "When he wasn't nominated by the AK Party, he went to another party, and now he says, 'Sir, let's unite.' Every vote given to Enver is a betrayal of the party. Our candidates are declaring their assets, and it is the right of the people of Ordu to demand these declarations from their opponents as well; we are waiting," he said.
