Özgür Özel to MHP Mayor: 'You are the ones who hand out all the city's plots'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel spoke at a rally in Istanbul's Silivri district.

At the rally, Özel said, “The Mayor of Silivri has started to hide his MHP affiliation. You are with the AKP. You are the ones who hand out all the plots of this beautiful city to sects, communities, TÜGVA, TÜRGEV, the Archery Foundation (Okçuluk Vakfı), and the Ensar Foundation, together with the AKP.

"YOU ARE WITH THOSE WHO HARBOR HOSTILITY TOWARD ATATÜRK"

You are with those who harbor hostility toward Atatürk, not those who are grateful to him; with those who carry out a counter-revolution against his revolutions, and with those who undo everything Atatürk did. Özel, who asked for votes for his party's mayoral candidate in the district, Bora Balcıoğlu, said the following:

We are in a process where housing prices have increased by 90 percent and rents by 75 percent in the last year, and the average house rent in Istanbul has risen to 20 thousand liras. At such a point, it is impossible to educate a student, stay in a rented house with a retiree's pension, feed yourself, or live.”
