Özgür Özel's comment on the Metin Lokumcu case: 'We will follow it closely'
In the trial held in Trabzon regarding the death of retired teacher Metin Lokumcu, who lost his life in Hopa in 2011, 13 police officers were acquitted. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to the decision on social media, stating that they would continue to pursue justice.
The court verdict was announced today at the 14th hearing of the trial held in Trabzon regarding the death of retired teacher Metin Lokumcu, who lost his life during incidents that occurred before a rally held in the Hopa district of Artvin on May 31, 2011.

Acquittal decisions were issued for 13 police officers, including the then-Artvin Provincial Police Chief Muhsin Armağan.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S REACTION TO THE DECISION
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to the acquittal decision in a post on his social media account.
Özel stated the following in his announcement:
"It is clear that the acquittal decision given to all defendants in the Metin Lokumcu case is not in accordance with the law and conscience. We will continue to pursue justice in all judicial stages of this case."
