Özgür Özel's silence on Numan Kurtulmuş

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel made statements at his party's Provincial Chairs Meeting in Muğla.

Reiterating his call for an early election, Özel said:

"If Mr. Erdoğan does not say he is ready for an early election in November next year, it means he will not be able to hold an early election again after that. According to the Supreme Election Council's (YSK) decision, if it is his second term and 360 people do not vote in this term, it means the election cannot be moved forward and he cannot be a candidate. Since he is avoiding an early election, it means he needs a candidate."

STATEMENT ON PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Speaking on the ongoing debate about who the CHP's candidate will be, Özel said, "We are proud of our Mayor Ekrem and our Mayor Mansur. Their common expression is this: 'They want to drag us into a candidacy debate early to prevent cracks within themselves.' When the day comes, we will sit down with all our members, decide who the candidate will be, and determine the most accurate candidate. We will save Turkey from the troubles it is in."

Asking "Who is the AK Party's candidate?", Özel continued:

"If Erdoğan is avoiding candidacy, if he cannot face the candidate we determine in November next year, if he cannot say 'I am ready, I am assertive, come on Republican People's Party,' then he needs a candidate.

Who will Erdoğan make a candidate? Will he make his son-in-law? Will he make Süleyman Soylu or Ali Yerlikaya? Is he afraid of exposing the dirty laundry between them? Everyone has been talking until today, asking who the CHP's candidate is. The CHP's candidate is a lion-hearted Republican People's Party member. So, who is the AK Party's candidate?"

ÖZEL'S SILENCE ON NUMAN KURTULMUŞ

On the other hand, it was noted that in the meeting where Özgür Özel spoke for more than an hour, he did not say a single word about Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, who has targeted the third article of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey.

Özel had attended the Yırca Olive Festival held in the Soma district of Manisa yesterday (October 12).

WHAT DID KURTULMUŞ SAY?

Kurtulmuş had targeted the third article of the constitution by saying that the phrase 'The indivisible integrity of the state with its country and nation' should be changed, stating, "The state does not have a country. The state does not have a nation. This text should be expressed as 'The indivisible integrity of the nation with its state and country'."

Kurtulmuş's words had caused reactions in the public.
