Palace denies Cem Küçük's claim about Erdoğan! 'Targeting the Presidency...'

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated in Washington that the licenses for the engines to be supplied for the KAAN jets had been halted by the US. Following this statement, Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün emphasized that there was no delay in the project's delivery schedule and that work was underway with alternative supply channels.

Journalist Cem Küçük made a striking claim regarding the KAAN project, suggesting that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had been given incorrect information. Küçük alleged that Erdoğan was not sufficiently informed about the project.

The response to these claims came from the Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), which operates under the Presidential Communications Directorate. The DMM stated that the claims that President Erdoğan was not informed or was misinformed about strategic investments were disinformation.

The DMM's statement is as follows:

"The claims circulated in some media outlets and on social media that 'President Erdoğan was not informed or was given incorrect information about the engines for the KAAN jets' are a product of disinformation.

Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as the Chairman of the Defense Industry Executive Committee, directly leads strategic investments. The National Combat Aircraft KAAN and the national engine development program are progressing in line with our President's vision, will, and determination, under the coordination of our Defense Industry Presidency and through the devoted efforts of Turkish engineers.

Therefore, the claims that our President was not informed or was misinformed about a strategic investment are a clear attempt at disinformation targeting the Presidency. It is important for the public not to give credence to speculations on a strategic issue such as the National Defense Industry and to take into account only the statements of official institutions."
