Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş met with Yerlan Koshanov, Speaker of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan, in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, where he is paying an official visit.
"AS THE TURKIC WORLD, WE ARE OBLIGED TO STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER"
Kurtulmuş stated, "We are entering a period where cooperation in every field among the Turkic world is much more important than it was yesterday. We are obliged to be together, to stand shoulder to shoulder, and to walk toward common goals."
During his meeting with Koshanov at the Kazakh Parliament, Kurtulmuş expressed his gratitude for the hospitality shown to him and his delegation during their official visit to their ancestral homeland.
Kurtulmuş said, "We will also carry out work that will bring our common history and cultural heritage to light. In parallel with this extraordinarily harmonious cooperation between our governments, we, as the parliaments of both countries, must develop very close cooperation. We will bring both our bilateral relations and our parliamentary relations on multilateral platforms even closer. Turkey and Kazakhstan will continue to struggle side by side to achieve common goals on multinational platforms, especially in TURKPA."
Stating that he would also visit the city of Turkistan, Kurtulmuş noted that Turkey was the first country to open a consulate general there.
Kurtulmuş noted that they would attend a program at the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi University in Turkistan, a joint effort of both countries, and would meet with students.
Kurtulmuş expressed, "Thanks to these reforms, Kazakhstan will rapidly rise to the place it deserves in the community of nations in the world and will enter a much more successful period. I also congratulate you on the high level of democratic representation in the Kazakh parliament. I believe that the entry and representation of six political parties in the Parliament of Kazakhstan will be beneficial for the entrenchment of Kazakh democracy."
